GENOMICS PLC ACHIEVES ISO 27001 CERTIFICATION

Oxford, UK, 15 February 2017. We are pleased to announce that Genomics plc has recently been certified as compliant under the international best practice standard for information security: ISO/IEC 27001. The certification covers the storage, analysis, and other uses of genomic and phenotypic data within Genomics plc.

The ability to demonstrate responsible use of data is particularly important to Genomics plc as we have obtained rights to use a vast array of heterogeneous data sets from many different different providers of data. Our ability to integrate this data allows us to carry out comprehensive analyses to elucidate important aspects of human biology.

John Colenutt, CEO of Genomics plc commented: “We take our responsibilities as custodians of genetic and phenotypic data very seriously, and with our ISO 27001 certification we have committed to maintaining a leading approach to information security. Analysis of such data has the potential to revolutionise healthcare, and we thank the organisations and individuals responsible for the generation of the data.”
