ASHG honours Dr Sekar Kathiresan with 2018 Curt Stern Award


We are delighted that Dr Sekar Kathiresan MD, chair of our Scientific Advisory Board and Director of the Center for Genomic Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, Director of the Cardiovascular Disease Initiative at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, and a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, will receive the illustrious Curt Stern Award at the ASHG later this month. The award recognises the significant scientific contributions of genetics and genomics researchers over the past decade. Dr Kathiresan has made significant progress to help understand the underlying genetic pathways involved in heart attack risk, and is a prolific author of original research in this area. Dr Kathiresan finds himself in the company of an array of worthy winners including Dr David Altshuler, who is a member of Genomics plc board of directors.
