Dr. Steven Wilder
My daily work involves looking at incorporating gene regulatory information into Genomics plc resource.
My expertise lies in epigenomics data integration, having worked in large consortia, ENCODE and BLUEPRINT, and for the Ensembl Genome Browser.
I have an MMath degree, University of Oxford and completed my DPhil Bioinformatics at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics, University of Oxford.
During my time working on the ENCODE project I was very pleased that there was great scientific interest when we calculated 80.4% of the genome as “functional”.
Outside of work when I am not creating and running Next Generation Sequencing training courses I enjoy playing volleyball and writing and running quizzes.
