Dr. Ayden Saffari

I work on methods for integrating large-scale functional omics data sets with genetic association data to help derive insights into the functional role of disease variants at cell and tissue level.

I have a PhD in Genomics/Bioinformatics from Birkbeck, University of London, and an MSc in Bioinformatics from King’s College London.

My PhD and postdoctoral research focused on genome-wide profiling of intermediate molecular traits such as gene expression and exploring potential links to health and disease development. This involved developing methods to identify disease-relevant signals within data sets, as well as strategies for leveraging information across molecular modalities.

In my spare time I enjoy travelling, listening to music and playing guitar.
