Dr. Alex Fish

Alliance Manager & Senior Scientist

I am developing approaches to both tease apart independent associations in a region, and map those associations to genes.

My area of expertise is in epistasis, a situation wherein the impact of variants is not independent, which I search for in the context of gene expression. Before I joined Genomics plc, I completed my PhD in Human Genetics at Vanderbilt University. During this time, I was a semi-finalist for ASHG’s Excellence in Human Genetics award for trainees. Prior to this I won the best trainee presentation at the Gordon Conference in Human Genetics. I have a PhD in Human Genetics and a MS in Computational Biology from Vanderbilt University. Since moving to the UK I have a map pinned on the wall of the National Parks; I am hoping to visit them all!
